Apostrophe Puzzles creates modern, fun, and vibrant jigsaw puzzles that celebrate the work of contemporary artists of color. Founded in Brooklyn in 2019, each of our bold, curated puzzles is an original artwork aimed at making art consumerism more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable. Our puzzles are made with 100% recycled chipboard, and printed with eco-friendly, non-toxic ink. We believe that supporting our artists and investing in our communities is a necessary step toward correcting systems of economic, social, and institutional injustice.At least 10% of each purchase goes back to our featured artists, and an additional portion of each sale is donated to a non-profit organization working to expand arts education and accessibility in communities of color. We are Black-owned, woman-led, and dedicated to a future of art consumerism in which everyone can participate.
About this puzzle
Nidhi Mariam Jacob is an independent artist, muralist, and art teacher from Bangalore, India. Her stunning floral designs are infused with the rich memories of her childhood - a Haliconia bunch, wild Lantana, or a Banyan tree all lend their influence to the magical realism of her inspired botanical creations. An artist since childhood, she strives to create beyond the limits of what we are able to see, drawing on the real, the imagined, and the felt as pillars of her paintings. Her work investigates the beauty of nature’s evolution - the continual cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Being inside nature - surrounded by it - and feeling close to the earth's soil is a grounding force in both her life and work. Jacob dreams a garden, and wakes to create it.
